I started my professional life as your typical IT development geek, creating software delivery joy through the use of things like patterns, agile methods, and overall object oriented goodness.
For the most part I was disappointed in the way IT delivery projects were managed, the reason they were started, and how they ended up. This dissatisfaction with the status quo led me to gradually embrace a new mission in life, to help IT knowledge workers to become awesome at what they do.
To that end I've created the Deloitte LEAN service offering, providing agile advisory, coaching, and change management services to IT departments. I've built this capability within Deloitte to help our IT clients truly transform the way they operate their business.
Over the last several years I have played a leadership role in some of the largest Kanban based enterprise transformations worldwide. Recently I have guided several large public sector organizations along the path of becoming a learning organization.
I keep adding new thinking tools to my organizational transformation utility belt, including lean startup, gamification, business model generation, and other collaborative, high feedback systems necessary to developing the next generation of work environments for knowledge professionals.
I am a passionate member of the Lean For Systems and Software Consortium, a limited WIP enthusiast, and have the honor of being a lssc12 Brickell Key nominee. I blogs frequently at agileconsulting.blogspot.com.
Last, but definitely not least, I am the proud father of a brand-new son William, and daughter Mila, and lucky enough to be the husband of the most amazing wife in the world, Barbara.
